Remote MySQL Print

By default cPanel does not allow external hosts to connect to the MySQL service. In certain cases you may wish to have remote access to the database. To grant access to an external host you must use the "Remote MySQL" feature.

Click on the "Remote MySQL" icon and on the next screen enter the host you wish to grant access to. The hostname can be an IP address (as shown on the screenshot) or it can be a domain/subdomain name. Note that the % symbol is used to indicate a wildcard. For instance 192.168.1.% means that all hosts with IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 will have access to the database. Be careful when using the Remote MySQL feature since it grants remote access to all MySQL databases present in the cPanel account.
